This setting is in the middle of the Heber Valley a few blocks away from Vernon Murdocks home. It is now filled with neighborhoods and growing city. To a young Vernon it was open fields and meadows. The Wasatch Canal is featured in the painting along with Mount Timpanogos in the background.
